Pastoral
Counseling
At New Covenant Ministries &
Fellowship, we use both Creation Therapy and Nothetic Counseling to
help our clients.
Creation
Therapy
After you have completed your Arno Profile System profile, and
your counselor has received your diagnostic profile and had time to
review and analyze it, your therapy will begin.
Creation Therapy is a unique method of counseling which deals with
the inner person rather than outer manifestations and
problems. It is based on the belief that man is a unique being rather
than the result of an evolutionary process. This method was developed
over a period of seven years of research involving 5,000 individuals
seeking help for their problems, by Richard Gene Arno PH.D.
Conclusions based on this research are that Creation Therapy is over
93% successful when administered by a trained and qualified
counselor.
Creation Therapy is based on the theory of temperament.
Temperament is the inborn part of a person that determines how he
reacts to people, places and things. In short it is how people
interact with their environment and the world around them. It teaches
that this temperament is placed within us by God, while in our
mother's womb, and that it will remain with us throughout our lives.
Each individual has temperament needs of varying degrees. Our
temperament is the determining factor in how well we handle the
stresses and pressures of life. Creation Therapy identifies the
temperament needs in the counselee and helps them to find a balance
in order to relieve the inner stress.
Nouthetic Counseling
Nouthetic counseling is not new. It has been done since Biblical
times. It is the truest form of Biblical counseling. The word
"nouthetic" itself means, to "admonish, correct or
instruct," and it was this type of counseling that was done
during Biblical times, using Scripture to instruct and bring about
change.
Although we, at New Covenant Ministries &
Fellowship, do believe that many individuals require a certain amount
of confrontation in their lives, we are sensitive to our clients
needs and feelings. We will never hurt or humiliate a client when
confronting them. Confrontation is always done in a gentle and
loving way, showing our concern, which we believe will bring about
the best results and eventual change in unhealthy behaviors.
Need help? Call us!
If you are stuggling, depressed, on the brink of divorce, or
otherwise burdened, please call us at (843) 864-4367 or email
us to set an appointment for counseling.
Remember, this is a ministry FIRST
and FOREMOST, and we are here to serve you.
Unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover pastoral counseling. But
we are not here to take your money. The only cost that cannot be
reduced is the initial consultation, which includes a diagnostic
profile, for which we must pay. After that, we may use a sliding
scale, based on income, depending on the circumstances.
